Program Description
Solve problems and make the world better. With a degree from CMU in electrical engineering, you'll be able to take advantage of undergraduate research opportunities and apply the knowledge you've learned from class. You will work alongside electrical engineering professors who conduct research in areas such as circuits, systems exploration, electromagnetics, electronic systems and bioelectronics and have the chance to present your research results at CMU's annual campuswide Student Research and Creative Endeavors Exhibition, as well as at scientific and technical meetings. With hands-on learning courses in advanced facilities, you'll be wired for a hot career.CMU's undergraduate engineering programs were ranked 86th among the nation's universities that offer bachelor's and master's degrees in engineering by U.S. News & World Report for their 2015 rankings of engineering programs without a doctorate degree.
In October 2014, CMU's Society of Automotive Engineers Baja student team, Team Chippewa Performance, ranked higher than every other Michigan university at the Louisville SAE Midnight Mayhem invitational in Bedford, Kentucky. It also placed second in the country, bested only by the Rochester Institute of Technology. All three CMU Baja cars entered in the Louisville invitational ranked in the Top 25.
