Program Description

This red seal program prepares students to install and repair pipes, fixtures and other plumbing equipment for water distribution and waste water disposal in residential, commercial and industrial buildings. Some of the duties include:

• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications for plumbing systems
• Examine water supply networks, waste and drainage systems
• Install, repair and maintain domestic, commercial or industrial fixtures and systems
• Connect, bead, thread and join pipes
• Leak test utilizing air and water

Outcomes: 

• Demonstrate safe work practices and personal protection.
• Plan work activity.
• Use and maintain hand and portable power tools and equipment.
• Interpret plans and specifications and prepare layouts and working drawings.
• Prepare components and fixtures according to specifications and assume responsibility for the end product.
