About Grade 10
Program Description
Students are accepted into Grade 10, 11 or 12 of the Senior High School Program based on an evaluation of the official transcripts from their previous school, as well as their English language fluency. In grade 10, students explore the arts, Canadian and world studies, classical studies, international languages, health and physical education, mathematics, native languages, native studies, fundamentals of sciences, social sciences and humanities, and technological education.
Academic highlight:
- Advanced program: For highly motivated and capable students under the age of 19 who want to begin their university transfer studies as soon as possible. Students in the Advanced Program must complete four high school courses including English 12 and write the corresponding provincial exam. After meeting all requirements, they may then begin university transfer courses at the College. Upon completion of at least 30 university course credits at Coquitlam College, students are then eligible to enter a university at the second-year level.
