About 2-Term Pathway - Incorporated Bachelor Year Zero in Engineering and Computing - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Applied Computing
Students can get the perfect start to their degree at De Montfort University with the International Year Zero (IYZ). Students will take an extra year of study at De Montfort University International College (DMUIC) in order to complete a degree at DMU. Students who take the IYZ will continue to the first year of study of their chosen International Incorporated Bachelor's degree programme at DMU.
This course has been carefully designed to provide a fully integrated program of study. The Applied Computing BSc (Hons) degree program is a practical, vocationally oriented course providing students with knowledge and skills for the modern, computer-driven workplace. Modules include a contemporary mix of traditional computing subjects with professional and work-related skills.
The program focuses on core modules such as Introduction to Computing, Computer Ethics, Data Analytics, Information and Database Design, Programming in Python, Project Management, Human Computer Interaction, Programming with APIs and Frameworks, Mobile Application Design and Development and Artificial Intelligence.
There are also a number of optional modules for students to choose from including Information and Communication Technologies for Development, Information Security Management and Governance, Internet of Things and Advanced Database Management and Programming, so students can tailor their learning to their areas of interest.
