About 3-Term Pathway - Incorporated Bachelor Year Zero in Business and Law - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Economics
Students can get the perfect start to their degree at De Montfort University with the International Year Zero (IYZ). Students will take an extra year of study at De Montfort University International College in order to complete a degree at DMU. Students who take the IYZ will continue to the
first year of study of their chosen International Incorporated Bachelor's degree programme at DMU.
Students will have individual subject tutors who will make sure that they are on track to achieve their study goals. Students will be given feedback both in person and in writing so that they always know how they are doing, and how to improve. Students will also be assessed through regular tests and exams.
Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Economics
Build strong transferable skills in quantitative methods and statistical techniques as well as more advanced skills in quantification and evaluation.
Economics is key to understanding some of the critical questions facing our world. This course will explore these questions while also examining some of the principles and theories that can help us to answer them.
The study of economics will also be supported by modules that provide students with an understanding of how to deal with and organise data in a comprehensive way, including modules in Financial Decision Making, New Directions in Economics, Econometrics, Financial Markets and Institutions and Behavioural Economics.
Develop transferable skills that are valued by professionals and industry experts, including well-evidenced empirical analysis and the ability to communicate economic ideas in reports and public audits.
DMU's Bloomberg Trading Room – one of the largest in a UK university – will give students a simulated experience on industry-standard software that is used by decision-makers in finance.
