About 6 Weeks Pre-Sessional English + 3-Term Pathway - Incorporated Bachelor Year Zero in Engineering and Computing - Continue to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Business Data Analytics
Students can get the perfect start to their degree at De Montfort University with the International Year Zero (IYZ). Students will take an extra year of study at De Montfort University International College (DMUIC) in order to complete a degree at DMU. Students who take the IYZ will continue to the first year of study of their chosen International Incorporated Bachelor's degree programme at DMU.
This delivery of the IYZ programme includes a six week pre-sessional English course immediately preceding entry to the programme. Throughout the pre-sessional English and IYZ programme, students will be supported at DMUIC. Students will have individual subject tutors who will make sure that they are on track to achieve their study goals. Students will be given feedback both in person and in writing so that they always know how they are doing, and how to improve. Students will also be assessed through regular tests and exams.
Students will master practical IT abilities, learn how to extract information from systems in business, government and society, expertly develop models and uncover previously unknown trends and patterns to support organisational decision-making.
The data analytics field is becoming increasingly more relevant and important. Insight-driven businesses are said to be growing at an average of more than 30 per cent each year, creating a demand for professionals skilled in data analytics.
When graduating of this course students will be equipped with the skills needed for successful careers in industry or academia, as competent and independent lifelong learners. This course will prepare them for careers in fields such as data and systems analysis and design, system, security, project and knowledge management, big data architect roles, data consultant roles and business consultancy.
