About Bachelor of Arts - Drama (Honours)
Program Description
Drama combines performance, theory and contextual study. You will have opportunities to act, script, direct and study the history of different theatrical traditions.Drama at DMU is a dynamic programme informed by a mix of contemporary methods of performance making, current scholarly thinking, and historical theatrical traditions. It offers you the opportunity to learn about the subject in a variety of ways by working with professional researchers, research-active academics, visiting practitioners, undertaking placements and internships, getting involved in professional performances, going on theatre trips at home and abroad, and showcasing your work to a variety of audiences. Studying Drama at DMU is an excellent preparation for students who wish to seek employment in a range of arts and industry related careers or to continue into postgraduate level study.
You can take part in talks and workshops run by actors, practitioners, directors and theatre companies. We also offer regular theatre trips in the UK, and abroad.

- Extensive performance opportunities for all years of study including Exit Souls: The Drama Festival which showcases students’ work to a public audience each year
- International opportunities: through DMU Global where you will have the opportunity for inspiring international trips that are significantly subsidised to destinations such New York or European trips such as experiencing the world-renowned International University Theatre Reunion (RITU) in Liège, Belgium
