Program Description
A fulfilling and professional discipline, social work supports individuals to participate in society and promotes social justice.The social work degree aims to train you to be a confident, effective, resilient and safe practitioner. The course is a generic one, meaning that you will learn to work with both adults and children and will be eligible to enter any area of practice upon qualification.
Subject to approval by Social Work England, successful completion of the Social Work BA (Hons) degree will confer eligibility to apply for registration as a social worker with Social Work England upon graduation.
The course covers all aspects of social work, including theories and methods, legislation, skills for practice, and developing professional competency.
The social work degree is designed to help you improve the lives and well-being of people and communities experiencing poverty or social injustice; equipping you to work in a wide range of areas including child protection, with vulnerable adults, older people and in mental health.
