Program Description
The BS in Information Technology focuses on preparing graduates who are able to configure software to meet the needs of organizations. Students acquire skills related to the selection, creation, application, integration and administration of computing technologies. This degree prepares students to become skilled in problem solving and programming, networks and communications systems, databases, Internet and Web technologies, security and project management, and have a strong grasp of business concepts and technical communications.
The BS in Information Technology has two concentrations:
- Standard Concentration
- Web Development Concentration
Learning Outcomes
Students will be able to:
- Design an application using principles of user-centered design.
- Construct a web application using best practices.
- Write computer programs that interact with software systems such as file systems, databases, web servers, and browsers.
- Participate in the design, implementation, and management of a software development project or activity.
- Communicate orally and in written form, their recommendations to instructors, clients, and other students.
