Bachelor of Arts - International Studies

International Studies major students will have the unique opportunity to develop an understanding of how cultures differ, along with the advantages and challenges of cultural diversity, in a region of their choice.

Students work with their advisor to devise a curricular plan that focuses on a specific region of the world. This focused study often involves a study abroad experience where students are able to develop a richer perspective of their own culture.

Graduates develop the necessary analytical and communication skills to compete successfully in the job market, to apply for graduate and professional programs, and to adapt throughout their lives to an ever-changing interdependent world. Through this program students will learn to develop and articulate their own ideas about the importance of having an international and global perspective in an increasingly multicultural workplace. International Studies graduates are prepared for graduate school in law and business and for careers in international business, international development, diplomacy, and teaching.
