Bachelor of Science - Education and Training (DC235)

DCU's practice-based approach to learning, teaching and assessment includes psychological foundations and a wide range of methodologies.  Students will acquire practical knowledge on key areas such as curriculum design, implementation, assessment and education policy, while also developing skills in information technology for education and interpersonal communications for multicultural/diverse societies.

Students will explore how teachers and trainers engage their learners and develop their understanding in any given topic. They will look at how people learn, how to use a variety of teaching methods to appeal to different learning styles and how to tailor their planning to get the very best from each learner.

As students develop their skills, they'll be given practical advice on how to improve as a teacher trainer. They will also learn how to plan and construct lessons and then they will get the chance to practise their teaching in a safe environment before getting work experience in real life environments.
