About Bachelor of Science - Information Technology - Security and Forensics
The Gildart Haase School of Computer Sciences and Engineering offers a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Information Technology (IT) program that provides students with the comprehensive knowledge, skills and training needed to pursue careers as IT professionals in one of the most dynamic areas of modern technology.
The B.S. in Information Technology degree program allows students sufficient flexibility to concentrate in Web Development Technology and/or Network and System Administration and Security and Forensics or a second discipline of interest (a minor).
The National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have designated Fairleigh Dickinson University as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE) through the academic year 2020. The B.S. in Information Technology degree program with a concentration in Security and Forensics fully meets the CAE-CDE requirements.
Students completing this concentration will help the information technology majors learn the use of cyber-defense techniques and tools in the systems, networks, and database administration tasks. It has the further strength of learning computer forensics from courses offered by the School of Criminal Justice, Political Science, and International Studies.
