Program Description
Computer scientists use computers to solve problems no one has successfully solved before. Programming is at the heart of what they do, writing and designing sophisticated code. Having a strong skill set in theory, math, logic, and science is also essential to their success. The Computer Science program at Illinois State is accredited by ABET.
Computer science career path options can include software development, graphics, artificial intelligence (including machine learning), game development, or systems programming.
Computer Science at Illinois State gives students strong skills in software development. ISU also provides background in computational theory, design, hardware and operating systems. Students will learn how to use multiple programming languages on multiple operating systems.
