About 1-Term Pathway - International Incorporated Master's (IIM) - Continue to Master of Laws (Honours) - International and European Energy Markets
The Pre-Masters program is designed for students who do not qualify for direct entry to a postgraduate degree at the University of Dundee. This may be due to the grades achieved in their undergraduate degree, their current qualifications not being equivalent to a UK undergraduate degree, or a desire to improve their academic and English language skills.
The Pre-Masters course will equip students with the advanced skills necessary to complete their postgraduate study at the University of Dundee. They can choose to study over one or two terms, depending on their academic qualifications and English language level. The one-term option offers a fast track route to their chosen degree course and is studied over three months. The two-term option is studied over six months and provides additional academic English and subject-related support.
International and European Energy Markets
A large share of all international disputes relates to energy in all its forms and throughout the value cycle. Companies, governments, and law firms require trusted, sophisticated advice to navigate such disputes successfully.
This course will provide students with the key theoretical and practical skills needed to launch a successful career in dispute settlement and mediation. The settlement and avoidance of disputes related to energy is an essential component of modern international energy law.
Students will explore both public and private means of settling energy disputes, including investor-state arbitration, as well as the foundations of commercial arbitration and climate litigation.
Additionally, they will study methods to avoid disputes through contract design and alternative means of managing conflicts prior to arbitration.
The Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) has been a global authority in energy law and policy since 1977. The organization is now working toward the transition to low-carbon economies worldwide. With over 6,000 postgraduate alumni from more than 50 countries, CEPMLP prepares its graduates for high-profile careers in both the public and private sectors.
