Program Description

Build a future by studying in the UK, with a pathway course at Kaplan International College (KIC) London. Situated in the world’s top academic city (QS Best Student Cities 2019), the College will prepare students for a university degree, and for a successful career.

Study at one of the most respected international colleges in London, and progress to one of 8 universities, including the University of Bristol.

The University of Bristol is a highly ranked Russell Group university with a fantastic reputation. Students will join a global community of students from more than 150 countries, and enjoy life in one of the UK’s most exciting cities.

The BA Classics focuses on the study and appreciation of a wide spectrum of Greek and Latin literature. Languages are taught at all levels from absolute beginner onward. Some classes concentrate on building and developing language and translation skills; others focus on literary criticism and engagement with the text.

In the first two years students will study both Greek and Latin language and literature, as well as choosing from optional units on a wide range of topics including Greco-Roman literature, philosophy and art. There is the possibility of studying abroad for one semester in the second year.

In the third year students will continue to study at least one language and choose from a range of special subject seminars based on academics' wide range of research interests. In co-operation with a supervisor, students will also research and write a dissertation on a topic of their choice. They will also plan, promote and execute a project aimed at presenting the ancient world to the wider public, with a member of staff acting as adviser.
