About 2.5-Term Pathway - Foundation Certificate for Business, Law, and Social Sciences - Transfer to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Film and Italian (Sandwich)

Program Description

Build a future by studying in the UK, with a pathway course at Kaplan International College (KIC) London. Situated in the world’s top academic city (QS Best Student Cities 2019), the College will prepare students for a university degree, and for a successful career.

Study at one of the most respected international colleges in London, and progress to one of 8 universities, including the University of Bristol.

The University of Bristol is a highly ranked Russell Group university with a fantastic reputation. Students will join a global community of students from more than 150 countries, and enjoy life in one of the UK’s most exciting cities.

This course combines film with the study of Italian. It will suit those with an enquiring mind and a passion for exploring the culture of another country and society.

Italian language and culture have had a lasting impact on Europe. Today, Italy's innovative contributions to design, technology and fashion mean that it is a major global commercial force. Italy is both traditional and modern and this tension is apparent throughout its history and culture. As the United Kingdom forges a new relationship with its European partners and seeks to develop its trading and cultural ties throughout the world, expertise in modern languages is more important than ever.

In the Department of Film and Television, guided by leading scholars and practitioners, students will explore the history of film and television. They will consider theoretical perspectives, appreciate how films are made and engage in practical film-making activities.

Alongside film students will study Italian language, history and culture units, choosing from a wide range of options that allow them to pursue their own interests. Both departments offer a vibrant learning environment with research-led teaching.

Students will spend their third year abroad on a work or study placement in an Italian-speaking country, refining language skills and cultural understanding. In the final year, students will return to Bristol, where they will have the chance to undertake a placement in the creative industries.
