About 2.5-Term Pathway - Foundation Certificate for Science and Engineering - Transfer to Master of Science -Physics with International Experience
Program Description
Build a future by studying in the UK, with a pathway course at Kaplan International College (KIC) London. Situated in the world’s top academic city (QS Best Student Cities 2019), the College will prepare students for a university degree, and for a successful career.
Study at one of the most respected international colleges in London, and progress to one of 8 universities, including the University of Bristol.
The University of Bristol is a highly ranked Russell Group university with a fantastic reputation. Students will join a global community of students from more than 150 countries, and enjoy life in one of the UK’s most exciting cities.
Physics is an inherently international activity, carried out by scientists in institutions throughout the world, sometimes competing and often collaborating. This degree will give students an early introduction to this key aspect of physics. It offers them the chance to combine in-depth training as a physicist with the experience of living and working as a researcher overseas.
During the third year overseas, the programme will be agreed with a tutor at Bristol and the working language will be English. Students will be based at a partner university abroad, spending most time taking advantage of opportunities available locally. This will usually mean carrying out a full-time research project, as part of a research team at the host university – this might include nanophysics in Brazil, astrophysics in Canada or particle physics in the US. Alternatively, students can take taught courses through Bristol's Global Opportunities programme. They will continue to study core physics via distance learning in readiness for returning to Bristol for the final year.
The course gives students the opportunity to develop a physicist's broad range of skills – including problem solving, numeracy and communication – and to supplement these with the experimental, theoretical and analytical skills needed for a career in research and industry.
Students will join a friendly department with a very active, award-winning society. The physics graduates have an excellent record of employment, a testament to the value that employers place on the transferable skills that they gain on this course.
This programme is accredited by the Institute of Physics.
