WELC - Academic English Program

The Academic English Program is offered at four different levels and designed for students with conditional admission to Western University or King's, Brescia or Huron University Colleges and those pursuing ESL studies. Faculty staff cultivate student success by developing communicative skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking – in conjunction with the cultural knowledge required to thrive in Western’s demanding academic environment. Depending on students' skill level with the English language when they apply, they will study anywhere from one to four terms, for up to 20 hours per week. Each term is 16 weeks in length.
