Between 2010 and 2020, the amount of data created, captured and consumed grew from 2 zettabytes to a staggering 64 zettabytes globally. (A zettabyte is about a trillion gigabytes – that's a one with 21 zeros after it.) In this practical course, students will take their career to the next level as they learn the latest tools from industry experts. They'll learn industry-standard programs, including SAS, PowerBI, IBM Cognos, Excel, SQL and R, and understand how to develop data-based solutions for real-life business problems. They'll also gain high-level skills when they choose a specialization in their area of interest, including artificial intelligence, data science, digital health and more. Students will graduate with their specialization on their academic transcript, so future employers can recognize their expertise.
Students will study a degree recognized by industry. La Trobe's Master of Business Analytics is accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and is one of the few courses in Australia where students will graduate with a Certificate in Business Analytics from SAS.
Students will understand the complexity of business needs and learn how to solve them with data-based solutions. They'll learn the highly sought-after skills required to bridge the gap between analytics and non-analytics professionals, and craft innovative solutions for a wide range of businesses and organizations.
Students will learn from world-class academics and be immersed in research at La Trobe University's Centre for Data Analytics and Cognition (CDAC). The CDAC staff also teach in the Master of Business Analytics and work with international research groups to develop industry-leading research into artificial intelligence and advanced analytics.
