Developed in consultation with industry leaders, La Trobe University's Master of Engineering is designed to prepare students for the rich opportunities of their future workforce. Students will advance their career when they choose a specialization in their area of interest.

This degree focuses on the advanced skills students will need for a successful career – including design, engineering management, research and innovation. They will also learn how to adapt to the emerging technologies that are changing the engineering landscape.
Students can shape their qualification to target their career goals. They can choose from a range of electives to enhance their chosen specialization. They will have the opportunity to work on a range of different projects – previous students have worked in construction, programming, web security and advanced physics.

Students will learn:
- Engineering management - Build engineering management skills across business strategy, legal, marketing, management and finance to lead projects, motivate teams and drive success.
- Design and innovation - Address engineering challenges through research, ideation and revolutionary product design.
- Risk analysis - Develop processes to identify and evaluate potential risks to mitigate project failures and avoid poor decision-making in engineering processes.
- Digital communication systems - Learn the principles and techniques of modern digital communication systems for wired and wireless applications.
- Computer-aided engineering - Equip themselves with the latest concepts in data and software to model, analyze and implement effective engineering systems.
