Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Construction Management

This course is ideal if you are interested in how buildings work and how building projects are managed. Students will explore three major themes - the nature and role of the construction industry, management in the construction industry, and technology of buildings.

They will also study the legal, financial and economic environments in which the industry operates while enhancing your understanding of the other professions involved in building. They will gain an overview of the whole construction process, including surveying, quantity surveying and architectural technology.

This course offers the opportunity to take a ‘sandwich’ year – a year of paid employment in industry which will build their skills and experience. This is usually taken between the second and third year of your degree, typically making their course four years in total. Students who choose the sandwich route find it helps with both their studies and getting a job after graduation. It can build their confidence, contacts, and of course their CV.
