About Master of Science - Child and Adolescent Mental Health
Want to develop the skillset to support children and young people who are experiencing mental health related issues? The MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health develops a critical and in-depth understanding of mental health and its relationship to children, young people and families within a changing and fluid society.
Learners will explore medical and psychological models of practice and look at mental health from the position of social intervention including social pedagogy, relationship-based practice, playworker and community work as methodologies.
Teaching includes lectures, seminars and workshops that will develop peer-learning networks. Students will be taught by dedicated practitioners from Leads' Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services who will share their professional experience to enhance learning. Learners will gain a range of in-demand transferable skills that are prime to enter contemporary health and social care practice.
The MSc Child and Adolescent Mental Health course will enable students to develop an in-depth understanding of this emerging field. They'll have the expertise and knowledge to work in roles across a range of sectors including health and social care, children’s services, youth work services, education, and young people’s counselling and mental health services.
