LBU offers first-class teaching laboratories, including a full range of civil engineering testing equipment for hydraulics, geotechnics, highway materials, concrete, structures and general materials. The civil engineering research facility, dedicated to the research work of students and staff will be available to play a major role in the MSc dissertation project.

Learners will have the opportunity to plan their own objectives for career development. The University will help them set up visits to sites and consultancy offices to aid their development. Engineering experts will share their expertise and experience in a series of guest talks. Students are also encouraged to research and discuss current civil engineering issues on a regular basis.

MSc Civil Engineering graduates will have the expertise to take on a leadership role specializing in structures, transportation, water supply and treatment or geotechnics. Their potential employers could include local authorities, central government, contractors or government agencies.
