Program Description
Our Professional Chemistry major is approved by the American Chemical Society Committee on Professional Training, one of only two such programs among schools affiliated with the churches of Christ (Lipscomb and Abilene) and one of only five private schools in Tennessee (Lipscomb, Fisk, Union, Vanderbilt and Rhodes). American Chemical Society approval is an assurance that the department has a quality, 21st century curriculum, a qualified faculty, modern instrumentation, a sufficient chemistry collection in the University library and adequate support facilities.Graduates with this major are certified to teach chemistry in high schools in Tennessee and other states.
