Master of Science - Computer Networking and Cyber Security - Extended

This extended master’s programme is designed for international students who wish to pursue postgraduate study at London Metropolitan University and will allow guaranteed progression on to the Computer Networking and Cyber Security MSc. The Extended Master’s in Computer Networking and Cyber Security MSc begins with a 15-week programme that will help improve students' English language ability and study skills before starting their master’s course in computer networking and cyber security.

Following this initial 15 weeks, students will go on to join the Computer Networking and Cyber Security MSc. This course will help students understand networking technologies and cyber security more in depth, while covering different approaches to an effective cyber defence in view of a cyber attack. Students will also gain knowledge in the most recent security principles, tools and techniques and will be taught by experts in a dedicated IT security laboratory. The assessments at the end of each module have been carefully designed to ensure they have the opportunity to demonstrate their learning and meet the stated outcomes. Assessment methods include essay writing, formal examinations, report writing, group working, debating and formal presentations, together with the compiling of a portfolio of tasks and activities undertaken. The programme is planned to build both the self-esteem and confidence so students are able to engage fully with study within the UK.
