About Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Accounting and Financial Services (Top-Up)
The Accounting and Financial Services top-up degree is for those who already have a foundation degree, Higher National Diploma or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject. It allows students to top up their existing qualification to a full undergraduate degree.
Students will be taught by highly experienced academics and have access to an extensive network of industry contacts to help them excel in the world of accounting, finance and financial services.
The Accounting and Financial Services Top-up BA will allow students to explore and expand their knowledge of accounting and financial services theory, as well as facilitating practical experience of using financial services software.
The top-up course includes the study of major subject areas in accounting and financial services, such as Advanced Management Accounting, Financial Management, Financial and Economic Modelling, Financial Instruments, Audit and Assurance Services and International Banking.
London Met students will have access to the Bloomberg room which will allow them to analyse facts and figures of the current market, and enable them to join the elite group of Bloomberg users around the world.
Using the Bloomberg room, students will have access to the same Bloomberg financial data that’s used on trading floors and in investment houses around the world. Having access to this data will help inform students' decisions, aid research, assist them in analysing current market facts and figures, and enable them to join the elite group of Bloomberg users around the world. As well as building knowledge of Bloomberg, students will have opportunities to develop expertise in other packages such as Sage accounting software, EViews statistical package and IBM’s SPSS statistics software.
In recognition of the importance of industry insight, students will have opportunities to be taught by experts with industry experience and to hear from practitioners via guest lectures.
Students will also develop transferable skills such as critical thinking and problem solving, helping them to prepare for a successful career in the accounting and financial services sectors.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
