Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Journalism (Foundation Year) (P512)

London Metropolitan University's Journalism (Foundation Year) BA (Hons) degree is the ideal choice if students would like to pursue a career in journalism or digital media but don’t hold traditional qualifications or can’t meet the necessary requirements to enter the standard three-year undergraduate degree. Students will graduate with the same award and title as students on the standard journalism course.

During the foundation year, students will study modules that will give them an introduction to the following areas:

• Media and communications
• Film, TV and broadcast media
• Digital media
• Journalism and writing for media

They'll also learn the technical aspects of creative practices through the development of ideas with a focus on the quality of making, recognition of structural qualities of different media and essential elements in communications.

An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. 

Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
