About Master of Science - Psychology of Mental Health
London Metropolitan University's Psychology of Mental Health MSc course is designed to provide students with advanced training in mental health. They'll gain an understanding of mental health law, safeguarding and working with vulnerable adults and children. They’ll also learn about how individuals cultivate resilience in the face of adversity and trauma.
Students will enhance their clinical skills, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and motivational interviewing techniques, as well as learning meditation and mindfulness methods.
This course would be ideal if students are a psychology graduate wanting to strengthen their position to undergo clinical psychology or counselling psychology training. Further, it aims to develop the skills of those currently working in social/health care practice to support career progression.
This course will train those aiming to work in the mental health care services, social welfare, education and youth justice services, it also provides an opportunity for career change. Part of this will include motivational interviewing and cognitive behavioural skills training aimed at developing students' practical and professional skills.
An International Bright Futures Scholarship in the amount of £3,000 will automatically be applied to eligible students with overseas fee status starting a degree with London Met in the 2024/25 academic year. This scholarship includes a tuition fee reduction for the duration of students' studies and is applicable to both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Tuition Deposit is £4,000 for all students excluding those from Punjab and Haryana for whom the deposit amount will remain at 50%
