Program Description
This 3.5-term programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to London South Bank University. You will study your Foundation programme at the ONCampus LSBU Centre located at the heart of the London South Bank University campus. 3.5 term programmes consist of English language during the first 0.5 term although some academic content may be included.
This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at London South Bank University. All students who successfully complete the Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP) are guaranteed placement on a suitable programme of undergraduate study at London South Bank University. The UFP is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the UK.
The year is divided into three terms of seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week, and half a term of English language. On average, you will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.
English Language forms up to six hours of your timetable, is compulsory for students who are below the required level for progression, and will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects as well as being taught separately if you need additional support. Students who are at or above the required English level for progression are likely to follow a reduced timetable.
Progress to Bachelor of Arts (Honours) - Events and Entertainment Management
From commercial sector meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) through to festivals, arts, cultural, community and sporting events, the thriving events industry in London makes the perfect place to study the management of events and entertainment.
Both practical and career focused, in this course students will learn about event strategy, design, logistics, operations, sustainability, law, health and safety, as well as business management, leadership, marketing and human resources giving students a head start to finding a career or starting your own business in the events and entertainment industry.
During the course, Students will study diverse and conflicting interests within the events and entertainment sector and the principles of sustainability, ethics and good business practice. They’ll also learn about the interaction between markets, suppliers, clients, resources and other stakeholders, as well as the issues of lifestyle, consumption and culture as they affect people’s leisure lives. The course also has a focus on building practical skills and workplace experience.
