4-Term Pathway - Extended Undergraduate Foundation Program - Engineering and Physical Sciences - Continue to Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) - Chemical Engineering

The 4-term program offers successful students guaranteed progression to London South Bank University. Students will study their Foundation program at the ONCampus London South Bank University Center located at the heart of the London South Bank University campus. This extended program is available for students who do not have the required English language level for the 3-term pathway. The program lasts 4 terms and includes an English language module (ELPP) followed by 3 terms of Undergraduate Foundation Program (UFP).

The program is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at London South Bank University. All students who successfully complete the Undergraduate Foundation Program are guaranteed placement on a suitable undergraduate program at London South Bank University. The Undergraduate Foundation Program is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom.

The year begins with an English language module and then the next three terms are divided into seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week, and half a term of English language. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.

English Language forms up to six hours of the timetable, is compulsory for students who are below the required level for progression, and will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects as well as being taught separately if additional support is needed. Students who are at or above the required English level for progression are likely to follow a reduced timetable.

Progress to Bachelor of Engineering (Honors) - Chemical Engineering

With demand for graduates across industrial sectors from energy to food and drink, pharmaceuticals and the financial and environmental sectors, chemical engineering is a great choice. This course will prepare students for a career in which they will research and test new products - be they petrol, plastics, medicines, food or drink - and make them commercially viable.

This course uses the expertise developed at London South Bank University with a vibrant and creative team to deliver an exciting undergraduate program, bringing together all the essentials of chemical engineering to develop a deep understanding of the subject.

This course is distinctive as it covers the theory of chemical engineering coupled with computer simulation, laboratory practice and industrial placement that enable graduates to be well equipped with desired skills sought after by employers. After two-years study, students are encouraged to opt to having one year industrial placement (sandwich course).
