Program Description
This 4-term programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to London South Bank University. You will study your Foundation programme at the ONCampus LSBU Centre located at the heart of the London South Bank University campus. This is an extended programme that is available if you do not have the required English language level for the 3-term pathway. This programme lasts 4 terms and includes an English language module (ELPP) followed by 3 terms of Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP).
This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at London South Bank University. All students who successfully complete the UFP are guaranteed placement on a suitable programme of undergraduate study at London South Bank University. The UFP is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the UK.
The year begins with an English language module and then the next three terms are divided into seven to eight teaching weeks and one examination week, and half a term of English language. On average, you will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week.
English Language forms up to six hours of your timetable, is compulsory for students who are below the required level for progression, and will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects as well as being taught separately if you need additional support. Students who are at or above the required English level for progression are likely to follow a reduced timetable.
Progress to Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Property Management (Building Surveying)
Whether you’re looking to start a career in building surveying, or are an established professional, this course will give you new routes into the construction and property practice industries.You’ll study a strong core of technology, alongside sustainable construction, property law and business management. If you study full-time, there’ll be the chance to carry out a work placement in the third year, improving your employment prospects further.
This course will prepare you for a career in building surveying, allowing you to enter the profession at graduate surveyor level, where you can progress to chartered status through RICS-approved APC training. With a broad construction curriculum, this course will help to develop the skills and expertise to feel confident working within the building surveying industry. This course will cover: construction technology; project management; law; economics; asset management; management and practice skills; and inspection, repair and maintenance. You can choose to take an optional year in industry in your third year.
