About Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Economics (L100)
The Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics will give students new perspectives on some of the most pressing and challenging problems and choices facing the world today. Students will develop the skills of an economist, equipping them to understand how consumers and firms interact and behave, how government policy affects the economy and how financial systems operate.
The program opens up a wide range of careers helping organizations or governments make better informed decisions. For example, economics can help governments devise better policies, help banks and financial institutions make better financial decisions, and help business managers make better pricing, production and investment decisions.
The first two years of the course focus more on developing students' understanding of the essential core of economics. The degree's structure offers students increasing flexibility each year so that they can specialize in the final year by choosing optional modules that are best suited to their career aspirations.
