2-Semester Pathway - Pre-Master's Programme - Continue to Master of Science - Sustainable Sport Business

The Level 6 Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is a two-semester programme, with guaranteed progression to a wide range of Master’s degrees at Loughborough University.

This Pre-Master’s Programme (PMP) is designed to prepare international students for postgraduate study in the United Kingdom. The PMP will allow them to improve their English while learning the study skills and research methods that they will need during their Master's degree studies. They will study academic modules relating to their chosen progression route. Each semester consists of thirteen teaching weeks, one reading week, and an assessment week. The weekly hours of study varies by semester with them on average studying around 18-21 (and up to 21) hours per week. Each module will have an assessment schedule, which will be completed by the end of the appropriate semester. Assessments will be designed to demonstrate learning across the individual modules of the programme and to allow them to experience a wide range of the assessment methods used in United Kingdom postgraduate programmes. Assessments will include coursework, essays, reports and other structured assignments, oral examination and unseen written examinations.

The Master of Science - Sustainable Sport Business programme will develop students' critical understanding on how to manage the practice of sustainability, along with insights into broader economic, social, environmental and policy issues in sport. Through a series of insightful lectures, seminars, tutorials and practice-based learning by doing projects, they will investigate the socio-economic and environmental aspects of sustainability and its practice. They will also be exposed to some of the latest opportunities and challenges confronting sport organisations at a global, national and local level. They will learn how to connect theory with practice by attending facility tours at London sport organisations and participating in project-based work with the esteemed partners. Previous sustainability projects have seen their work with Formula E, Wimbledon, the R&A, Union Cycliste Internationale, and the United Nations Environment Programme.jnkjk
