The 2-Semester Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Engineering and Physical Sciences is a one-year programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at the university.

The International Foundation Programme is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom. The two semester programme lasts one academic year [nine months]. Each semester includes, on average, 13 teaching weeks, one reading week and one assessment week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week. This programme includes English and three academic subject modules. English will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if they need additional support to develop their English language. They will be assessed at regular intervals throughout the programme to ensure they are making the progress required to successfully complete the programme. Full assessment of the programme will take place in the final semester. Assessment methodologies are aligned to those that will be experienced in the University environment, and include project work, essays, and presentations.

The Master of Physics (MPhys) (Honours) - Engineering Physics applies physical principles to engineering and technology, equipping students with the fundamentals of physics and drawing on Loughborough University's well-established expertise in engineering to help them engineer solutions to real-world problems. Many technologies from the simple lightbulb through to all aspects of the modern smartphone would simply not exist without the profound connection behind engineering physics. Studying Engineering Physics will equip them with a variety of skills that have many exciting real-world technical applications. They will be taught by internationally renowned staff, who are experts in their field. In the Department of Physics the staff are not only known for wanting to share their passion for the subject with them, but to also provide the academic and pastoral care they require throughout their studies.
