The 2-Semester Pathway - Undergraduate Foundation Programme - Life Sciences is a one-year programme offers successful students guaranteed progression to Loughborough University. This programme is designed to prepare international students, who have completed senior secondary education, for entry to undergraduate studies at the university.

The International Foundation Programme is set at level 3, which is equivalent to A-level standard in the United Kingdom. The two semester programme lasts one academic year [nine months]. Each semester includes, on average, 13 teaching weeks, one reading week and one assessment week. On average, students will undertake 21 (and up to 25) hours of classroom-based study per week. This programme includes English and three academic subject modules. English will be integrated into the teaching of academic subjects, as well as being taught separately if they need additional support to develop their English language. They will be assessed at regular intervals throughout the programme to ensure they are making the progress required to successfully complete the programme. Full assessment of the programme will take place in the final semester. Assessment methodologies are aligned to those that will be experienced in the University environment, and include project work, essays, and presentations.

Human Biology is the study of the structure and function of the human body, looking at how the human species evolved, how humans change over the lifespan, adapt to life stressors, and how human biology and culture influence disease risk. The Bachelor of Science (Honours) - Human Biology course is unique in its consideration of the human from molecular to population level and in its international perspective. It is also modular, allowing choice and increasing specialisation in each year of study. This programme has been accredited by the Royal Society of Biology following an independent and rigorous assessment.
