Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Arts - Political Science - Comparative Government and Politics

The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program for international students with good English-language skills. It supplements immersive classes taught in English with just the right amount of support.

Students in the Academic Accelerator receive:

The appropriate level of support for their academic and English-speaking needs

A full year’s worth of college credits

Access to courses exclusively for international students

English-language assistance with terminology necessary for classes

A mix of classes with both international and U.S. students

The LSU Department of Political Science offers a diverse range of courses for undergraduates in a setting where professors are genuinely interested in undergraduate education. It is a large, comprehensive political science department covering American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Politics, and Political Theory. The faculty regularly receive college and university teaching awards, and the number of majors consistently ranks among the top two or three in the College of Arts and Sciences. Upon graduation, students will be able to:

Provide political science majors with the education required to pursue successful careers in government, academics, and the private sector

Provide graduate training for PhD and MA students in political science that reflects state-of-the-art substantive and methodological instruction in all specialization areas, and to produce graduate students with superior research, teaching, and professional skills.
