Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Music Education - Vocal

The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It complements immersive classes taught in English with appropriate support.

As a student in the Academic Accelerator, individuals will receive:

A full year’s worth of college credits

Access to courses exclusively for international students

Assistance with English-language terminology relevant to classes

A blend of classes with both international and U.S. students

The Bachelor of Music Education program offers two concentrations:

Vocal

Instrumental

These concentrations prepare students to excel as teachers in elementary and secondary schools. The program emphasizes that quality music teaching stems from strong musicianship, which is why students are expected to have achieved notable success as music performers in high school. At LSU, they continue to refine their musical skills through individual mentoring with a master performer and participation in major performing ensembles.

Courses in music theory, music history, conducting, jazz, piano, and technology complement the students’ musical development, creating a foundation that integrates with professional education coursework in teaching and psychology.
