About Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Civil Engineering
The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a balanced first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It complements immersive classes taught in English with appropriate support.
Students enrolled in the Academic Accelerator Program will receive:
- Tailored support for their academic and English-speaking needs
- A full year’s worth of college credits
- Access to courses specifically for international students
- Assistance with English-language vocabulary relevant to their classes
- A mix of classes with both international and U.S. students
The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is globally recognized for its excellence in engineering education, research, and service. The primary goal of the Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering Undergraduate Program is to provide students with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to plan, design, and maintain infrastructure systems. Graduates of the program will:
- Be actively involved in engineering practice, research, education, or management
- Demonstrate technical proficiency, innovation, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities
- Possess advanced communication skills
- Recognize the importance of professional licensure and continuous learning
- Engage as contributing members of their profession, community, or other beneficial organizations
Upon graduation, students will be well-equipped to excel in their engineering careers and make meaningful contributions to society.
