Academic Accelerator - Bachelor of Science - Textiles, Apparel, and Merchandising - Apparel Design

The Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) is a well-rounded first-year program designed for international students with strong English-language skills. It complements immersive courses taught in English with the appropriate level of support.

The College of Agriculture at LSU offers a Bachelor of Science in Textiles/Apparel/Merchandising. This program prepares students for professional careers in the interconnected and global textile and apparel industries by providing a comprehensive academic experience. Students focus on the design, development, and marketing of textile and apparel products, and are encouraged to develop a broad problem-solving perspective through the synthesis of concepts, coursework, and work experiences. Students can choose to concentrate on textile science, apparel design, or merchandising.

Within the Apparel Design Concentration, students learn about the construction and design aspects of the fashion industry for the consumer market.
