About Associate in Applied Science - Electrical Engineering Technology
The Electrical Engineering Technology program at Madison College will provide students with the skills they need for a variety of in-demand jobs related to electrical engineering. In Electrical Engineering Technology program, students will:
- Learn to analyze complex problems and develop solutions
- Build strong math and analytical skills
- Utilize electronics terminology, schematic symbols and electronic standards
- Assemble circuits from schematics, wiring diagrams and/or specifications
- Define the math parameters of alternating current (AC) signals
- Derive simplified equivalent circuits for basic AC circuits
- Explain the basic characteristics of a differential transistor and operational amplifiers
- Interface digital to field devices and determine functions of electronic memory
- Create clocked logic circuits to drive encoders, decoders and multiplexer systems
- Build microcontrollers/microprocessors and embedded systems architecture
- Implement serial and parallel communications
