About College Certificate - Electronics Technician (formerly Industrial Electronics)
Students in this program gain a flexible set of knowledge and skills that positions a student for employment in industrial settings as well as careers in business and information technology. Through theory, lab exercises, and hands-on projects such as construction of a power supply using electronic test equipment, fabrication equipment, and soldering, students will learn the fundamentals of electronic and electrical components, and the devices and circuits used in industrial settings.
A work practicum placement gives students an opportunity to apply what they’ve learned and add to their skill-set through a real-world work experience and participation in Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology Work Skills Series workshops gives students a solid foundation in the employability and essential skills employers demand. This program is for individuals who are critical thinkers and thrive on analysis and problem solving, who enjoy hands-on work and working with technology, and who are equally comfortable working alone or as part of a team.
