• Gain the skills and certification to be a secondary educator (middle school, junior high, and high school, grades 7-12).
• Learn to use an array of theories, resources, technologies, and methods to create engaging learning experiences for speakers of other languages — English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) — and secondary students (both English speakers and English language learners).

Program is ideal for

• This 51-credit master's program is for people with no prior teacher certification who want to be able to teach in public schools as both a content specialist — biology, chemistry, English, languages other than English (German, Italian, French, Spanish), math, social studies — and an ESOL teacher to middle and high school students (native speakers or English language learners).
• It also allows students to teach as an ESOL teacher in an elementary school.
• This degree leads to New York state teacher certifications in both Adolescence Education (grades 7 through 12) and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (all grades).
