About Bachelor of Science - Business - Accounting

Students will be prepared to pursue a career in the public, private, or governmental sectors, or continue on to a specialized field through further education.
Accounting is known as the language of business—it is a channel for communicating and keeping track of financial information. Accountants rely on various mathematical formulas to relay information to management and outside constituencies, helping them maintain financial health and making sure they are complying with financial standards. As an accountant, students will become an expert in applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices and have a broad range of career paths in the public sector, private industry, or nonprofit world.
Business Student Learning Outcomes:
- Students will apply knowledge of basic economic principles, marketing principles, communication, legal issues, operations management and statistics, accounting, management, leadership, information technology, nonprofit management principles, strategy and financial principles as they apply to the contemporary business and nonprofit environment.
- Students will identify ethical issues existing in the workplace and apply relevant ethical standards and frameworks for their prevention and/or resolution.
- Students will demonstrate professional business communication using different modalities.
