About Integrated Masters - Master of Engineering (MEng) - Biomedical Engineering

Program Description

Finding solutions to current and future health issues is tough, but at Nottingham Trent University will support students to gain the right skills to face the challenge. Biomedical engineering is a very diverse field which is also developing rapidly. To help students to become a bioengineer of the future, students will work closely with industry to ensure they are as well-prepared as possible for a career in this exciting and rewarding industry.

Students will be taught to become an effective problem solver by combining their biomedical engineering skills with a detailed knowledge of mechanical and electronic engineering, human performance and biomedicine. Areas of bioengineering covered on this course are biomaterials, bioinstrumentation, biomechanics, medical imaging, rehabilitation, and cellular, tissue, and genetic engineering.

Students will have the opportunity to take part in the industry Grand Challenge, whilst studying Masters level modules in the final year. This provides the balance of advanced knowledge and practical skills employers demand.

Students will benefit from excellent teaching. Nottingham Trent University is in the top 20 in the UK for general engineering (The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022).

Nottingham Trent University is partnering with industry every step of the way to ensure that students become the very best engineer of the future by working with all types and sizes of engineering organisations. In the innovative approach, students will spend a large proportion of their time each year applying theory to live, industry-led projects.

With the focus firmly on problem-solving and live project work, students will receive three to four years of industry experience before they graduate.
