About Bachelor of Arts - Theatre Major and Education Minor
Ohio Wesleyan University's theatre program offers a wide range of options for beyond-the-classroom learning and opportunities to add minors or a second major in another field so students can create a program that fits their interests and career goals.
Students in the Theatre major are expected to be involved in a production each semester. In addition to classes and on-campus programs, majors are encouraged to take advantage of off-campus internships or study experiences during their junior year or first semester of their senior year. The Ohio Wesleyan University New York Arts Program provides excellent career-oriented experiences for those with acting, directing, design, production, or dance interests. Students focusing on theatre history or theory might consider opportunities in Europe.
Ohio Wesleyan University also offers a pathway to a teaching license in theatre education, which can be completed within four years on campus. To receive the state’s Multi-age License in Drama and Theatre, students will major in Theatre and minor in Education. During students' senior year they will complete a senior project and a semester of student teaching.
