Bachelor of Arts - Earth Science

Earth Science is a multidisciplinary field that studies the features, processes and history of the earth. Geoscientists are central to addressing the challenges and issues facing the world in the 21st century, such as global climate change and evolving demands for energy resources. Earth Science majors at PLU will get to take courses ranging from oceanography to earthquakes and volcanoes, from meteorology to paleontology. The Pacific Northwest is abundant with geologic features, giving students the opportunity to work closely with professors on field studies in the Cascade Mountains, Puget Sound, the Pacific Ocean coast and the Olympic Peninsula. There are also studies outside the Pacific Northwest in places such as Death Valley, Hawaii, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Zion and Yellowstone national parks.
