About Bachelor of Psychology (BP154) (110984F)

A Bachelor of Psychology from RMIT will provide students with a wide range of knowledge and skills in human behaviour.

In addition to the principles of personality, psychopathology and psychotherapy, students will explore social, developmental, biological and cognitive psychology, as well as research methods in psychology.

Thoughout the psychology degree, students will explore topics such as perception and consciousness, theories of learning, memory, cognition, emotion, motivation, and stress. Students will also undertake studies in Health Wellbeing and Nutrition, Counselling and Virtual Care, as well as concepts behind Working with Psychological Health. 

Studies will be based on the Scientist-Practitioner Model, where students will apply research knowledge to actual situations to help resolve real human problems. 

This degree is the basis for further study for students who want to become a practising psychologist.

To register as a psychologist, in addition to this degree, students need to complete the Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology) (Honours) and the Master of Clinical Psychology (2 years full-time), or equivalent degrees recognised by the Australian Psychological Society.
