Diploma of Graphic Design
Students will use industry-standard software and gain in-depth knowledge of the design process to work in areas of visual and graphic design.
- As graphic designers, their daily activities may include:
- Creating logos and artwork for products such as packaging or café menus.
- Focusing on graphics used for websites, digital, and online platforms.
- Creating graphics for clients to promote products or services, which may involve print or digital publications such as newspapers and magazines, or outdoor signage.
This diploma provides a strong technical focus that develops students' expertise in digital design, print production, and typography, along with a thorough understanding of design concept development and the design process.
Students will explore various forms of visual and graphic communication, including illustration, digital design, typography, calligraphy and lettering, packaging design, books, advertising, and publicity material.
They will become competent in industry-standard software, including Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Associate Degree in Graphic Design
Graphic designers are visual problem solvers who possess highly specialized technical, creative, and conceptual skills and knowledge in visual communication. They may specialize in various fields, including corporate identity, book and magazine layout, advertising, branding, packaging, web design, wayfinding, and exhibition design.
The Associate Degree in Graphic Design combines communication, design, technology, and business. It provides students with strong skills in finished art and design concept development, as well as in-depth knowledge of the design process. The rigorous research and learning experiences challenge students to develop a deeper level of critical thinking, enabling them to create high-level and innovative design solutions and concepts.
Bachelor of Design - Communications Design
This degree prepares students to be locally and internationally aware communication designers capable of working across a range of domains and industries, including graphic design, advertising, branding, and illustration consultancies, as well as design and communication units within corporate, government, and non-government organizations.
Students will learn skills alongside a strong selection of peers in studio-based facilities. Throughout the degree, they will develop the ability to negotiate consensus among participants with diverse interests in the design outcome. Additionally, students will learn how a visual strategy can contribute to all phases of the problem-solving process.
