Bachelor of Arts - Biology - Pre-Laboratory Science

The biology pre-laboratory scientist major focuses on medical laboratory science or cytotechnology. During the clinical year of internship, students will learn with renowned health care programs, including Mayo Clinic School of Health Sciences. At Saint Mary’s, students will receive a transformational education, preparing them for what matters most. The biology pre-laboratory scientist major offers two emphases of study; medical laboratory science and cytotechnology. As medical laboratory scientists, students will learn to analyze biological specimens, perform scientific testing, and report results to physicians. As cytotechnologists, they’ll study body cells to detect cancer and other abnormal conditions.
