Associate of Arts - Spanish (Optional transfer)

The Spanish department offers classes at a variety of levels, from beginner to literature. There are classes for students of Spanish as a foreign language, as well as classes specifically designed for native Spanish speakers. In addition to improving students' linguistic abilities, all courses include discussion of aspects of the culture of Spanish speakers.

The ability to speak another language is an important advantage in today's world. In particular, given the demographics in California, knowledge of Spanish is a plus in many occupations and may be a requirement for certain positions.

San Mateo -  Cañada College is partnered with various universities and colleges to give interested applicants the opportunity to transfer to a four-year college or university after completing their associates degree or to transfer during their associates degree. Interested applicants should indicate their interest on the application form along with their intended partner university. San Mateo will provide students with the transfer requirements needed to guarantee a transfer. They still need to apply to the university during the regular period, which is usually one year in advance of the start date.
